Green Hills Child Development is a Christian preschool and Kindergarten operating in Nashville under the authority of the Tennessee Department of Education. Our program is designed for infants two months old through kindergarten and is comparable to those of the finest preschools in the Nashville area.
Starting elementary school can be a big transition for a child. If your family is already in the midst of a big life transition - new home, new city, new career, or new sibling - another year could help. As you plan for elementary school, consider how Green Hills Child Development can give your child the best possible start to their academic career. A few key advantages:
Connecting. Knowing and loving each individual child for who they are, and guiding their learning at their pace, is the connection our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes are built around. We believe it is essential to helping them become who God created them to be.
Grouping. At Green Hills Child, your young student will not fade into the background. Kindergarten is our oldest age group. And with room for just 26 Pre-K and Kindergarten children in our two oldest classes, your child will benefit from dynamics not available at a standard elementary school. More one-on-one time with the teacher, more opportunities to develop emotional & social self-confidence, and more opportunities to lead in an organic way among their friends.
Learning. The academic foundation established during your child’s Pre-K and Kindergarten years can make the difference between realizing, or lagging, their potential throughout elementary school. And what we teach tracks with the education that children in any Kindergarten class should learn in Tennessee. Individually differentiated lesson plans prepare a strong foundation for First Grade and beyond, with engaging concepts and activities. Your child’s teacher will prepare and (as appropriate) modify the materials to be as engaging as possible for the students.
Green Hills Location. Our address is convenient to families who live or work in the following areas of Nashville: Green Hills, Vanderbilt, Oak Hill, Forest Hills, Brentwood, Belmont/Hillsboro, Music Row, Melrose, One Hundred Oaks/Berry Hill, Belle Meade, West Meade, and Downtown.
