At Harpeth Hall, ambitions become achievements, and girls become purposeful young women prepared to make a meaningful difference in their communities and the world. An independent school for girls in 5th through 12th grades, Harpeth Hall designs every aspect of the school experience with girls in mind. The student council president is a girl. The captain of the state title-winning lacrosse team is a girl. The leader of the school’s two-time World championship-qualifying robotics team is a girl.
As a founding member of the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools, Harpeth Hall knows how girls learn best. Here, it is “cool to be smart.” In the classroom, hands-on experiences with everything from telescopes to power tools elevate concepts beyond the textbook. Girls are supported and encouraged by their teachers and classmates to celebrate curiosity and investigate new ideas. Premier programs such as Winterim, SEEK, Global Scholars, and Public Purpose develop students’ perspectives as they think beyond familiar boundaries. Dynamic and passionate faculty are at the heart of learning in a vibrant academic environment that values diversity of thought and cultivates respect for other’s viewpoints. Innovation thrives at Harpeth Hall, where distinguishing teaching and learning spaces — including the Bullard Bright IDEA Lab — encourage students to explore, collaborate, and imagine new possibilities. These opportunities ensure Harpeth Hall girls are future-ready. During Harpeth Hall's structured four-year college counseling program, our team of college counseling professionals provides personalized advising on every aspect of a student's application and decision-making process, working closely with students and their families to find a college or university that will enrich the life of the student. At Harpeth Hall, 100% of students go on to attend college or university. We educate boldly and, in doing so, cultivate confidence and amplify each girls’ purpose. Outside the classroom, Harpeth Hall girls shine in the arts and athletics. They perform as actors, musicians, and dancers while contributing original paintings, poetry, and prose to school publications. In athletics, they embrace healthy challenges and enjoy unforgettable experiences. In the last three years, Harpeth Hall has claimed state championships in six different sports: cross country, lacrosse, riflery, rowing, soccer, and track and field. Two alumnae swimmers even competed at the 2024 Olympics. The strength and confidence Harpeth Hall students develop as athletes prepare them for a lifetime of health and well-being. For more than 150 years, Harpeth Hall has held true to the essential idea that girls deserve an excellent education full of possibilities and purpose. Harpeth Hall students — intelligent, ambitious, and determined — are the leaders of tomorrow, inspired by the opportunities of today.
