At Stellaris, we believe in nurturing curious minds and fostering a love for learning from an early age. Our innovative educational program combines a modern inquiry-based pedagogical framework with language immersion and international faculty to create a truly exceptional and unique educational experience that will propel your child forward. We are an independent school opening in Nashville with Pre-K this January of 2026, will offer Kindergarten beginning August of 2026, and will grow into elementary, middle school, and high school thereafter. Our mission is to light the path of dreams by creating exceptional educational environments that champion humanity and inspire students to become skilled, curious, and compassionate risk takers that act with purpose to achieve their dreams and create a better world. Our educational program uses best practices from around the world: • International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme We utilize the IB’s inquiry-based educational program to allow students to flourish through project oriented units that make learning exciting and fun. How do bubbles work? How are houses made? Why is the sky blue? Why is the sun hot? We empower kids to ask fundamental questions about our world and help them take ownership of their learning in order to answer them. • Language Immersion Acquisition of languages at an early age not only provides children with an invaluable skill that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives but also opens the door to cross cultural competency and an ability to empathize with others. We offer Spanish immersion starting in Pre-K and Chinese Mandarin language training starting in 3rd grade. • International Faculty We bring the best teachers from around the world to deliver our innovative program and to infuse the classroom with the knowledge and life experiences that our teachers bring with them, no matter where they come from. This allows children to develop a broad perspective and be better prepared as they grow and pursue their dreams. • Secular and Multicultural Stellaris is a non-denominational, secular institution that seeks to create a rich multicultural environment that is representative of what our students will encounter when they go out into the world. The combination of our international faculty, the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate program, and our language immersion approach sets Stellaris apart. ADMISSIONS We are currently accepting applications for the 2026 Spring semester for our Pre-K and have an enrollment waitlist for our forthcoming Kindergarten class that will open August of 2026. Our school offers a generous Variable Tuition program in order to meet the circumstances of families that may need financial assistance to attend. OUR STORY
Stellaris was started by Erin Defosse, the founder of the Magellan International School in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2009, Magellan is now a globally recognized academic institution that covers Pre-K through high school, has a student body that will soon reach 800 students, and is the only International Baccalaureate program in the entire United States that covers Pre-K through high school using a language immersion model. Students from Magellan have attended the best universities in the United States and abroad and live out the values of the school to help create a better world. Erin was motivated to launch Stellaris in Nashville in order to expand the benefits of this unique type of education to cities around the country that are growing, aspire to be on the world stage, and whose communities are ready for a forward looking education that will prepare their children for the future.
